Anthony J. O'Connell, 1st bishop of Knoxville

Knoxville's first bishop, Anthony J. O'Connell, served from 1988 to 1998. After going to West Palm Beach as its bishop, he resigned in 2002 after admitting molestation of students in the high school seminary, St. Thomas Aquinas in Hannibal, Missouri.
