Adult courses to begin in Memphis and Jackson Deaneries
Sister Cathy Galaskiewicz, O.P. will offer Mission to Teach 103 and 104 on Sat., June 4 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Family Life Enrichment Center, Room 109, located at 8151 Poplar Ave. in Germantown.
This course is especially helpful for all who teach religion to children or adults, in school, parish or home settings. (Sessions 101 and 102 are not prerequisites). Topics in Session 103 include,Catechist's Role in Church, Liturgy Integration, Learning Styles, Methods and Session 104, Called to Witness, Service Integration, Engaging the Culture, Unit Planning.
Session 103 will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. Session 104 will be held from 12:15-2:45 p.m. Bring lunch. Drinks will be provided. The $5 fee is payable on June 4. This cost may be covered by a catechist's parish or school. Catechist certification credit will be given. To register, call 901-373-1222.
Father Richard Mickey, pastor of St. Mary Church, will offer Life in Christ: Catholic Moral Teaching at St. Mary School in the Lourdes Room. St. Mary Church is located at 1665 Highway 45 Bypass in Jackson, Tennessee. All adults are invited to a deeper understanding of the Way of Holiness, that is, daily life in Christ, through this study of the principles of Catholic moral teaching and their application in contemporary life. This course will meet on six Tuesday evenings, June 7 through July 19, omitting July 5. The time will be 7-9 p.m. Participants are asked to bring The Catechism of the Catholic Church.Diocesan certificates will be issued, and catechists may apply the course toward catechist certification.
