Re-branding a diocese -- the Reoconnellization of Knoxville
This picture was found in the necrology at the back of Sacred Heart Cathedral at a statue of St. John Vianney dedicated to clergy who have died in the diocese of Knoxville. This picture of Anthony O'Connell was in the notebook with other deceased priests last summer. It was found in the drawer below the statue as late as January 2019. Someone is having second thoughts about having his in the book of deceased priests but apparently not enough to remove it from the area altogether. Cowardice? Insensitivity? Or is it part of the re-branding of the diocese we have seen since 2002?
